Who Sakura is
Sakura starts the series as the Team 7 member with a crush on Sasuke and no idea what she is doing. She ends it as one of the three strongest medical ninja alive. In between she trains under Tsunade and comes out with perfect chakra control, a punch that breaks the ground, and the ability to heal almost anything.
She is the one who kills Sasori of the Akatsuki, with Chiyo, and the one who keeps Naruto alive more than once.
What happens to Sakura
Manga spoilers, through the last chapter.
In the war she awakens the Strength of a Hundred Seal, the same mark Tsunade carries, and fights beside Naruto and Sasuke against Kaguya. She marries Sasuke after the war, and their daughter is Sarada. Sakura is alive at the end of the manga.
