Yes. Many people generate a quirk first, then keep remixing the character into a full OC with a name, costume, and backstory.
A quirk is a superpower in My Hero Academia. Almost everyone in that world is born with one, and it shows up around age four. A quirk can be big, like making fire, or small, like being able to pull things a little closer. Each one has limits, a cost, and a way it shapes the person: their body, their costume, their job and how they fight. Heroes train their quirks at school and pick a hero name to match. An MHA OC is your own character in that world, and the quirk is the first thing to decide, because everything else, the costume, the hair, the pose, the team, comes from it.
Four steps. 1) Describe the quirk and the person: what the power does, one drawback, the hero costume, and the hair. 2) Pick a style and a pose: the clean anime look, a manga ink look or a painted look, and a pose like charging the quirk in both hands, mid-jump, or a calm hero stance on a rooftop. 3) Hit create. The MHA quirk generator draws your hero in about two seconds. 4) Remix until it feels right. Add a visor, change the glow color, make the costume match the quirk better, try a villain version. Keep the version you like and remix again. It is free, and there is no limit on tries.
MHA sorts quirks into three types, and each one gives your OC a different look. Emitter: the power comes out of the body or acts on the world, like fire, ice, gravity, sound or healing. Emitter heroes look normal until they use it, so the costume carries the effect, and you can turn it on and off. Transformation: the body changes for a while, like hardening skin, growing huge, turning to steel or stretching. These heroes need costumes that survive the change. Mutant: the body is always different, like a tail, wings, a bird head, extra arms, or frog feet. Mutant heroes never turn it off, and their costume works with the feature. Every good quirk also has a drawback: it drains you, it hurts, it needs a trigger, it has a time limit, or it goes wrong under stress.
Here are twelve to remix. 1) Echo: repeat any sound you heard in the last minute at full volume, but you go deaf for a minute after. 2) Bookmark: freeze one object in place for ten seconds, but only one at a time and you have to touch it. 3) Rust: anything metal you hold rusts fast, including your own gear. 4) Glassbone: your skin turns to hard glass, but you crack if you take a big hit. 5) Static: build up a charge by walking, then release a shock, but you can not use phones. 6) Shadow Step: jump between any two shadows you can see, but bright light makes you dizzy. 7) Bloom: plants grow where you touch, but it uses your own energy and leaves you hungry. 8) Rewind Touch: undo one minute of damage on an object, never on a person. 9) Tuning Fork: your voice shakes things apart, but you lose it for an hour after. 10) Feather Weight: make anything you carry weigh nothing, but you float and need to be tied down. 11) Mirror Skin: reflect one attack back, but only if you see it coming. 12) Long Nap: heal fully when you sleep, but you must sleep for six hours right after any fight.
Let the quirk decide. Start with the problem the quirk creates and solve it with the costume. Fire quirk: heat-proof suit, vents, no sleeves. Ice quirk: a warm collar and gloves that grip. Sound quirk: a speaker on the chest, ear guards. Gravity quirk: a soft padded suit and boots with wide soles. Mutant quirks need cutouts, a tail hole, wing slits, a bigger helmet. Then add one support item, a visor, a cable, a tank, a brace, so it looks built. Pick two main colors and one glow color for the quirk itself. Give them a hero name that says the power in one word. Then make it, look at it, and remix the parts that do not match the quirk.
Every one the roller can land on. Take one, change the drawback, make it yours.

Every hero here started as one quirk. The look is the My Hero Academia anime style: clean sharp lines, bright flat colors with strong cel shading, big expressive eyes, spiky or wild hair, and a hero costume built around the power. Costumes mix a school gym uniform, a hero suit with a belt and boots, a coat with a collar, gloves and a visor, or a support item like braces, tanks or wires. Palettes are loud: green and black, red and white, yellow and blue, purple and gold, with one glowing color for the quirk itself, fire, ice, lightning, smoke, light. Backgrounds are the hero school, a training ground, a city street mid-rescue, a rooftop at dusk, a villain hideout. Emitter quirks get energy effects, transformation quirks get a changed body, mutant quirks get a permanent feature like a tail, wings, extra arms or a horn. Describe your quirk and your hero and the MHA quirk generator draws them in about two seconds. Free, no limits.
