Who Nanami is
Nanami is the adult in the room. He left jujutsu after school, worked an office job, hated it, and came back because at least sorcery was honest about being bad. He wears a suit, refuses overtime, and is the first grown-up who takes Yuji seriously.
His Ratio Technique splits anything into seven and three, and the line between them is a weak point he can cut through with a blunt blade. Overtime, a binding vow, makes him stronger past his working hours.
What happens to Nanami
Manga spoilers, through the last chapter.
In Shibuya, Jogo burns him nearly to death, and Mahito finds him after. Nanami's last thought is of a beach in Malaysia, and his last words to Yuji are that he has it from here. Mahito kills him in chapter 120. Nanami is dead at the end of the manga.
