Who Maki is
Maki was born into the Zenin clan, one of the three great sorcerer families, with almost no cursed energy. To the clan, that made her worthless. She left, enrolled at Tokyo Jujutsu High, and set out to become a grade 1 sorcerer to spite them.
What she has instead of a technique is a Heavenly Restriction. Her body gave up cursed energy before she was born and got a superhuman body in return. She fights with cursed tools — a polearm, the three-section staff Playful Cloud, a katana — and needs special glasses to see curses at all.
She is the older twin of Mai Zenin, who stayed in the clan and resented her for leaving. In Jujutsu Kaisen 0 she trains Yuta Okkotsu. By the main story she is the second-year the first-years look up to, with Panda and Toge Inumaki at her side.
What happens to Maki
Manga spoilers, through the last chapter.
In the Shibuya Incident, Jogo burns Maki nearly to death. Back at the Zenin compound, the clan turns on the twins and Mai is killed. Mai's last act is to make Maki a sword and take the last of her cursed energy with her. That completes the restriction: Maki becomes what Toji Fushiguro was, a body no curse can sense, and she kills most of the Zenin clan that night.
In the Culling Game she hunts down Naoya Zenin, reborn as a cursed spirit. In the Shinjuku showdown she is one of the few who lands a cut on Sukuna, with the Split Soul Katana, a blade that cuts the shape of the soul rather than the body. She is alive at the end of the manga.

- She has none. Maki was born under a Heavenly Restriction: almost no cursed energy, and a body far past human limits in return. After Mai's death the last of her cursed energy goes too, and she becomes a sorcerer curses cannot sense, like Toji.
- Does Maki die in JJK?
- No. Jogo burns her nearly to death in Shibuya and she recovers. Her twin sister Mai dies in the Zenin compound. Maki lives to the end of the manga.
- What grade is Maki Zenin?
- Grade 4 on paper in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which is why the clan and the higher-ups wrote her off. No later official grade is given; by the Culling Game she fights at special-grade level, and she cuts Sukuna in Shinjuku.
- Is Maki stronger than Toji?
