Who Sukuna is
Sukuna was a human sorcerer a thousand years ago, so strong that the sorcerers of his time could not kill him. They cut his body into twenty fingers, each a cursed object no curse could destroy. When Yuji Itadori swallows one, Sukuna wakes up inside him.
His technique is Shrine: Dismantle cuts anything at a distance, Cleave cuts to fit the target, and the Fire Arrow burns. His true body has four arms and two faces. He is bored by almost everyone, and the story spends two hundred chapters proving why he can afford to be.
For most of the manga he is a passenger in Yuji, taking the body for minutes at a time and killing what he pleases. He is waiting for a better one.
What happens to Sukuna
Manga spoilers, through the last chapter.
In the Culling Game he moves into Megumi Fushiguro, takes the Ten Shadows with him, and tames Mahoraga. In Shinjuku he fights Gojo for the manga's longest battle and kills him in chapter 236 with a slash that cuts the world. Then, one by one, the rest of the sorcerers wear him down: Kashimo, Higuruma, Yuta in Gojo's body, Maki, Todo, and finally Yuji, who offers him a place to live. Sukuna refuses and dies in chapter 268.

make my Jujutsu Kaisen characterQuestions people ask about Sukuna
- What is Sukuna's cursed technique?
- Shrine. Dismantle is a long slash that cuts anything in range; Cleave adjusts itself to cut a target in one stroke; the Fire Arrow, called Fuga, is a divine flame. His domain, Malevolent Shrine, throws Dismantle and Cleave at everything inside it without a barrier.
- Does Sukuna die in JJK?
- Yes. After the Shinjuku showdown, worn down by nearly every living sorcerer and by Yuji, Sukuna refuses Yuji's offer to live and dies in chapter 268.
- Did Sukuna kill Gojo?
- Yes. In chapter 236 he cuts Gojo in half with the World-Cutting Slash, a Dismantle stretched to cut space itself, after Gojo had beaten his domain and Mahoraga's wheel found a way through Infinity.
- How many fingers does Sukuna have?
- Twenty, plus a lost twenty-first from a second body. Yuji ends up with fifteen in him before Sukuna moves to Megumi and eats the rest.
- Is Sukuna a curse or a human?
- He was human, a sorcerer of the Heian era. After death he became a cursed object, the twenty fingers, and reincarnates inside a host. He calls himself a curse; the story treats him as both.
