Who Yuji is
Yuji is a high-school kid with absurd strength and a dying grandfather whose last words were to help people and die surrounded by them. To save a friend he swallows a finger of Sukuna and becomes the King of Curses' vessel, which makes him the most dangerous object in Japan and a first-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High on the same day.
He has no technique at first. What he has is a body that can take a hit, a punch that lands twice, and Black Flash, which he lands more often than anyone. Gojo bets that Yuji can hold Sukuna until every finger is found, then die with all of them inside him.
He does not want to be a weapon. The story keeps making him one anyway.
What happens to Yuji
Manga spoilers, through the last chapter.
In Shibuya, Sukuna takes his body and kills hundreds. Yuji does not forgive himself. He learns he is Kenjaku's child, born from Kaori Itadori, and that Choso is his brother. He eats the remaining Death Painting wombs and awakens Blood Manipulation. In Shinjuku he fights Sukuna at the very end, uses Sukuna's own Dismantle, and offers him a place to live. Sukuna refuses. Yuji is alive at the end of the manga, and the last page is his.

make my Jujutsu Kaisen characterQuestions people ask about Yuji
- What is Yuji's cursed technique?
- He starts with none. Late in the manga, after eating the remaining Death Painting wombs, he awakens Blood Manipulation, the Kamo technique, and in the last fight he uses Sukuna's Dismantle and Cleave from the Shrine that had grown in him.
- Does Yuji die in JJK?
- No. Yuji survives the Shinjuku showdown and the manga ends with him. Sukuna is the one who dies.
- Is Yuji Sukuna's twin?
- No. That theory came from Sukuna's twin having been eaten in the womb. Yuji is Kenjaku's child, born from Kaori Itadori's body, which makes him a Death Painting's half-brother, not Sukuna's twin.
- What is Black Flash?
- A hit where cursed energy lands within a hair of the punch itself. It multiplies the damage and cannot be done on purpose. Yuji lands it more than anyone in the series.
- Why does Yuji have superhuman strength?
- The manga never fully explains it before the fingers. He threw shot put past the world record at school. Later it is tied to what he is: Kenjaku's child, built as a vessel.
