Who Hakari is
Kinji Hakari is a third-year at Tokyo Jujutsu High who got suspended for beating up a conservative higher-up. While suspended he runs the Gachinko Fight Club in Tochigi, where sorcerers fight bare-handed for money and non-sorcerers pay to watch. Kirara Hoshi runs it with him.
His technique has no name in the manga. What it does is turn his domain into a pachinko parlor. Idle Death Gamble runs a game based on a romance manga, Private Pure Love Train. Hit the jackpot, a 1-in-239 chance, and Hakari gets unlimited cursed energy for four minutes and eleven seconds, the length of the game's theme song. In that window his body heals faster than it can be hurt, so he cannot be killed.
The catch is luck, and Hakari has it. He says he has never needed more than thirty spins. His cursed energy has an edge to it as well: even a light punch feels like a serrated bat. Gojo named him and Yuta as the two students who could pass him.
What happens to Hakari
Manga spoilers, through the last chapter.
Yuji spars with him to earn his help. In the Culling Game he fights Charles Bernard, a manga artist who sees a few panels into the future, and beats him by attacking blind spots. Then he fights Hajime Kashimo and lives through two jackpots in a row. In Shinjuku he takes on Uraume so Kashimo can face Sukuna. He is alive at the end of the manga.

- What is Hakari's cursed technique?
- It has no name. Idle Death Gamble is his domain expansion; inside it he plays pachinko, and a jackpot gives him four minutes and eleven seconds of unlimited cursed energy and automatic healing. The game itself is called Private Pure Love Train.
- Is Hakari stronger than Gojo?
- Not as he is. Gojo said Hakari and Yuta could surpass him one day, which is not the same thing. On a jackpot Hakari cannot be killed for four minutes, which is a different kind of strong.
- Does Hakari die?
- No. He beats Charles, survives Kashimo, and holds off Uraume in Shinjuku. Hakari is alive at the end of the manga.
- Why was Hakari suspended?
- He beat up a conservative member of the jujutsu higher-ups after a disagreement, back around the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. He kept running his fight club instead of coming back.
